I'm on the news!

I took a rather awesome photo during our trip back to ND the other day. We saw some odd looking clouds, snow, rain, sleet and wind, and this photo is one to really take a look at. Yes, I'm going to be a Pippa! And other news

Eden and Matt got to hear the baby's heartbeat the other day and she isn't as sick as she has been, so all is well. Just do not even consider using the 'G' name around me and we're ok. Pippa is an alternative name for the 'G' word (I looked up alternative names online LOL) and I love it. Poppa likes his name too.

On to other news:

Ruth is doing pretty well after her surgery. She has gotten all of her drainage tubes out and half of her staples. She had a great deal of lymph nodes removed along with her left breast and she will do chemo and radiation for 6 weeks or more. All prayers are welcome and needed.

Even though we went to Texas for a horrible reason, we did end up having some fun while we were there. We met up with friends and had a great time visiting them. I can tell you that I probably gained 20 lbs while we were there cause the food in North Dakota isn't too great. I ate and ate and ate and ate...well, you get the point. So, I'm now going to watch myself and start walking more.

We are currently recovering from our LONG road trip. We had to drive to be there in time for her surgery (our airport was closed for remodeling during the time we needed to go), so we did a three day drive in two LONG days. I do not plan on doing that again any time soon. I'm still tired, so is Buster.

I'M GONNA BE A GREAT-GRANDMIMI!!! We are all so thrilled - I was afraid I'd die before I could have a GREAT but now , God willing, I'll see him or her in April!!! Keri (PIPPA) and Buster (POPPA) are tickled too. They are still in Texas with his Moma, Ruth, who had a breast removed. They will have the pathology report on Monday and will start home on Tuesday. I appreciate all the prayers you guys sent to Ruth.
Hope all of you are well --- I've got this crud and am taking Biaoxtin and Musinex ---so I'm blowing my nose alot and having coughing fits. I HATE this stuff!!! Don't forget to get your flu shots, I'll get mine soon as I get over this!!
I'm still gonna get those books out to you guys but it will be a while. I have stacks for Suzy (English and Scottish mysteries), Celeste (animal mysteries), Susan, Candy & Steve gobs of mysteries and anyone else who wants some. I'm reading as many as I can to be able to send them too!!! LOL Oh, Keri brought me home one of Lala's favorites - a Miss Julia book - who wants it???
It's about time for work so I've got to get 'charming' --- I can only be charming for 4 hours -- too much pressure!!!! ROTFL

Happy Birthday, Marisa!!

Happy Birthday to my sweet Niece, Marisa!! As in Marisa Ellen Cusenbary Patteson so as not to be confused with Suzy's Marisa, who is precious to us all as well. Naturally I could not resist taking this opportunity to go through my albums and find this precious picture of Lala and MamaCush with the kids - sure looks to me like they had their hands full trying to get them all settled. The photo is dated October of 78 so maybe it was getting together in Graham to celebrate Marisa's third birthday - at least that is what I'd like to think. Coming to Graham

Buster's Mom, Ruth, has been diagnosed with breast cancer and we are going to come to Graham the week of the 22nd to see her.

Sounds like she's going to have surgery this coming Monday. We had planned on going to see her BEFORE any surgeries, but due to Buster being 'the boss' at his shop, he can't leave in the middle of a big job.


I know she's a touch cookie, but would be grateful for prayers for her.

OK YOU GUYS!!! I'VE ONLY HEARD FROM BULA, SUZY AND SUSAN ABOUT THE BOOKS I WANT TO GIVE AWAY. KERI HAS GOT ME SO MANY AND MINE ARE STILL IN STORAGE. IF YOU DIDN'T PAY ANY ATTENTION TO MY E-MAIL, WELL, A BOOKS STORE WENT OUT OF BUSINESS AND GAVE KERI'S LIBRARY ALL THEIR BOOKS. AND I GOT A BUNCH OF THE EXCESS - MINE ARE ALL MYSTERIES OF ONE KIND OR ANOTHER. ANYWAY, TELL ME WHAT YOU LIKE AND I WILL SEND THEM TO YOU. I WILL SEND THEM IN THOSE FLAT -RATE BOXES OF THE POST OFFICE. I REALLY WANT SOMEONE TO HAVE THEM BECAUSE I AM KEEPING WHAT I WANT AND SOME ARE COPIES, ETC. MOST ARE PAPERBACKS AND SOME ARE LARGE PRINT. PLEASE,PLEASE TAKE THEM, YOU CAN GIVE THEM AWAY OR SHARE WITH YOUR FRIENDS. Today is Michael's birthday and I wanted to share these special photos of these two extraordinarily special men in my life - my daddy and my son. Michael and I have a running joke that he is my favorite son because he is my only son, but you know what, I think I might just say that any way even if I had another three boys. LOL! He has grown up to be such a wonderful and kind and generous person that he always makes me feel so proud to be his mom! We had fun hanging out at the shop yesterday and I am looking forward to having a Happy Birthday lasagne after while. Tom Thumb was in charge of making the carrot cake so we can say we had vegetables to go with our lasagne - ha!! Happy Birthday, Michael, you are my beautiful boy.

The venue changed a bit due to the city messing up. So, with the LAST MINUTE (no kidding) change, there was no time to put up any of the decorations I got. Oh well.....

We had the reception at the Williston Country Club. Eden and Matt wanted burgers and chicken. The food was great. The cake was great. The drinks were great and the fellowship was awesome. We had a great time.

The newlyweds didn't have time for a real trip, but they did get to go to Minot, ND (where all the flooding was) and they stayed overnight and got to play at the indoor waterpark, eat at the Space Aliens Grill and have a great time.
