Rinda
OK, I did have a long phone visit with Rinda when we were in Houston a couple of weeks ago for Kaylee's track meet. We have exchanged e-mails and I have her home and work numbers and she has my home and cell numbers. It was a really good visit, and she asked me to make a chart of all the family so she can see who's related and how. I think I may start on it today. I can only go so far, as I'm not Catherine, and I can't keep up with the youngest family members! I can barely remember the "oldsters" and that includes me! Anyway, she's doing well. Still working. Ricky is living in Dallas now near her kids, and I assume is fine, but I haven't talked to her and don't have her contact info. Rinda didn't say she wasn't, so there you go. Anyway, hope you all read this. Yes, Facebook has really taken over. I didn't even realize John and Estelle could get this! That's great. We need to keep this up, even though Facebook is handy. This was a great thing when it started, and it still is. Love to all. Suzy

Flashback to the 60's

No, it's not about a psychedelic flashback, but it did include some rock and roll - lol! Last month some old friends of ours let us know that the citizens of Mineral Wells along with Friends of the Museum, and others I'm sure I'm missing, held a dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the restoration of the Fort Wolters gate at the entrance to Wolters Industrial Park. Having done his primary helicopter training at Fort Wolters and later worked there as an Instructor Pilot (when I met him), Chuck has been through that old gate many, many times. We decided to attend the ceremony as a family so all the kids, except for Lance, were able to be there as well. Chuck and I were at first surprised at how old all these old pilot type guys looked - ha! Could it be that all of us have aged after forty years? Amazingly, there actually were a couple of guys who apparently could still fit into their old flight suits. It was a fun event and there was quite a large turnout and it provided a fun opportunity for Chuck to share some of his past with his children. The people of Mineral Wells have been wonderful to the veterans of that era. And yes, cousins, there was cake!! No ice cream, but there were delicious cookies, so that counts for a lot in my book.

JUST A LITTLE SCOLDING!!!
Hi Cousins!!! We have all been lax in putting letters on our blog ---- this the the only way Bula & John have of hearing from all of us. I hope someone (Cathy - Candy - Susan) perhaps makes copies for Collie & Hazel to read. Wish we could get them to get laptops --- I really think they would enjoy them, and believe me, if I can do it , anyone can! LOL Suzy - tell them about talking with Rinda. Marisa -- tell them about your trip to Graham and the visit with Nick. Cathy - I'm sure you've been up to something or on a trip and we need to hear how Jennifer & Brett are in cold Alaska, Someday we may even get Buster, Kay and Bill to write something ( and Bill, don't write "something" and think that will do!!!) I know Diane is still alive or Paul would have said something on FB. Wade - I know you read all my 'gems' on FB. Bula & Collie don't get out of town alot and I know they would also love to hear from the 'younger cousins'!! And put in pics of Maci, Martha! And Deb, haven't heard from you in ages -- I know you must have alot of pics of the kids we haven't seen. OKAY, I've finished ranting. I love all you guys & gals!!! Jody the Elder!! lol
