Hey all...
Madison is going to be published in "A Celebration of Poets"!!! Her poem, "My Heroes" was one of just a few chosen from her grade. This is very exciting for her and us, since she is dyslexic, we are extremely proud of her. She loves to write poems, songs and stories.

BRAD
Hi all! The latest word I've had on Brad's surgery was that they weren't able to take out the tumor because he might be paralized. They took out enough for a biopsy and they should hear within 5 to 7 days. Then they will decide what to do next. If anyone else has more news, please report it. Brad's wife Laura has set up a website - I loved looking at the pictures of them so you might want to click on it. www.cusenbary.wordpress.com Keep those prayers coming in. Love, Jody

News from the Bottonis
Greetings to All!
BIG news at the Bottoni abode!
Paul has been accepted to the University of North Texas for the fall 2009 semester! He still wants to pursue broadcast journalism, especially sports and radio.
BIGGER news: on Wednesday, Jan. 14, he proposed to his longtime steady, Madeline Mia Olds (we call her "Maddie"); she said YES (yea!). The plan is for both to finish school (she is at SMU while Paul will be in Denton), secure jobs, and then get hitched. We're all very happy; she accompanied us on Paul's graduation trip to Alaska. They've known each other since junior high school. We get along tremendously with her parents, and Mom and Dad are already known to her as "Mimi" and "Pappy."
Don is still working too hard at the pharmacy, and then working even harder to home repainting the interior of the house. Blessedly, we have a young man stripping the wallpaper and texturing the walls for us, but as all of you know, it's a big, messy job. I have wonderful intentions to helping, but by the time I'm finished with the day-to-day chores, Don's already finished another room! (Hmmm, maybe I'm just smart!)
Anywho, Paul wants to bring Maddie to the next reunion. I do know that she is going to Vegas for her 21st birthday with her folks in July (around the 21st, her birthday), so if the reunion could be any time but that, super; if not, we'll just get her there for the one after that!
Don and I are going to Lubbock on Feb. 25 to spend a few days seeing and spoiling our grandson, Justice! Paul will "Callie-sit," work, and go to school... oh, and I'm sure he'll spend time with Maddie as well!
Love you all,
Diane
News
Hi everyone!!! Just wanted to let everyone know that Joe Sanderson who owned Sanderson's where we have had so many Cusenbary-Parsons Reunion meals passed away. I'm going to send a card to JoAnn and the rest of the family and sign it from the Cusenbary-Parsons group. He was always so pleasant and helpful when we'd call to reserve the room and also with the catering they did at the church and the one at GHS. Hope all of you are well. Love, Jody

Smash Cake Picture
Here are pictures of Owen eating at his party and enjoying his "smash" cake. He attacked it with true Cusenbary gusto. Wiped off the nasty icing (it was good!), threw it on the floor (covered in plastic!) and ate the cake with both hands. What a good time.
Owen and his Daddy eating chips and queso. It's GOOD to have lots of teeth.
Owen and his Daddy eating chips and queso. It's GOOD to have lots of teeth.Sad, sad news....
We have just learned that Buster's oldest son, Brad, has a brain tumor. We're all still in shock, to say the least. Over the last few months he has had some episodes of numbness in his right arm, and uncontrol of his right pinky finger, which eventually led him to seek medical attention. After several doctor's appt's, and an MRI was done, he found out the news on Jan. 6 that there was a mass the size of a walnut on the left side of the brain.
He has done a lot of research on the internet, and eventually got an appt with a neuro doctor in Denver. He wants to seek a second opinion there in Denver, and possibly a third in Phoenix.
Brad is 38 and lives in Steamboat Springs, CO. He and Laura were married in July of 2007. They have stayed amazingly strong through this ordeal, but no one knows at this point what lies ahead for them.
Please keep him in your prayers!
Love to you all,
Cathy

Pics from "Weezer" (aka Vickie Brisco)

Hi, y'all! I have been asked by our cousin Vickie Brisco, who shall forevermore be called "Weezer" (Have you seen Steel Magnolias? If not, watch it). She sent me some clippings and asked that I add them to the blog, and will send more later. I hope they show up ok. They're all pretty old - some older than others, but they are neat to see.
I hope this finds all of you doing well in the new year. We had a great Christmas and a fun week at our little house in Graham. We'll be there again this weekend, still taking more "stuff".
Hopefully we will see you soon. By the way, has Candy decided when to have the reunion at her house? We need to get a date set so we can all start making plans!
Anyway, bye for now, and love to all!

Happy New Year!
What did you guys do to celebrate the New Year? Who stayed up the latest? Who went to bed first? I would have been in bed by 9:30, but we were playing chickenfoot and it's rude to go to bed just because you are losing.
We had our black-eyed peas with cornbread today. Lots of luck for us...I hope.
Love,
Candy
