Got a Boo Boo!

Just wanted to give everyone a little update on Daddy.  On Monday night he fell outside and conked his head on the edge of the driveway.  They didn't call me until the next morning....but I headed over there as soon as I could get dressed and out the door!  They should have gone to the ER that night, but since they didn't and he still appeared to be speaking English in complete sentences, I agreed to take him to his ENT doctor instead.  Ended up seeing a (very young!!) new doctor, which we both liked.....who cleaned and stitched up his ear, and removed the leftover grass from behind his ear.

He had quite a goose egg over his left eye and a whole lot of bruising which gave him quite a "shiner". The bruising has now started to dissipate, and his ear is looking like it's on the mend.

He had an appointment with an orthopedic doctor on Thursday....totally unrelated to the fall....and the doctor told us that he needs hip replacement on his left hip. He saw the same doctor that did successful hip replacement on Lyndell's dad (age 91) last spring.  After he gets clearance from his cardiologist, we should be able to move forward with the surgery.  I hope it takes care of the pain that he has had for way too long!!

I had difficulty deciding which picture was the least "unpleasant",  ultimately opting for the one I took after I got him home from the doctor.......Smiling!

My best to everyone!

Long and overdue update

It's been a long time since I've posted and I'm sorry.

I got promoted at work and I've been really swamped lately. One Sunday evening, my boss called me at home (not like her to do that), and asked me if I wanted to take over the recently vacated Circulation Supervisor position and of course, I said yes. I'm now over around 8 people, run the front desk, process all books, audiobooks, magazines, newspapers, run the facebook page, mend books, run the book sale, delete unwanted books, and in general, run the place directly under my boss. I have a new office-not just a desk- and I've been busy cleaning it, decorating it and not having much time to stay in it. LOL.

Buster is ridiculously busy at his work. He's the shop manager and he's currently designing his new shop because his company is moving to a new location in town. He works 7 days a week and gets every 3rd weekend off, but still gets calls even then. When we are home and off work, we tend to vegetate.

Nick is looking forward to his senior year in high school and Madison is nervous about her freshman year. Nick will watch out for her, I'm sure. I took the kids school clothes shopping today and we had a good time. Williston is having it's Chokecherry Festival this weekend and we got caught up in the parade downtown. My library's bookmobile was in it, so I'm glad I got to see it.

Eden and Matt are doing well. Eden sells AVON ( she can and will ship anywhere in case anyone is interested), ACE and is thinking of making jewelry to sell. They are still in Montana, but Matt works with Buster at Go Wireline.

Lily is honestly the sweetest thing I've ever seen. She's such a good baby! Matt, Eden and Lily had supper with us last night and she was so fun. Loves to cuddle and loves to chew on her fingers. She's discovered her toes and they are her favorite toy!

The Buzz is good too. He's almost 10 years old now and we just ordered him a new bed online. He's the king of the house and the king must be comfy.

Here's some photos of Lily from this week:

I just wanted to let all of you know what has been going on with me.     I had that infusion with remcade (something like that) and it did not like me at all.....I seemed to have all the side effects except death.  On top of having the usual dry, thin, icky skin given to us by some fargone ancestor.....I got a lovely case of hives and it has driven me crazy for several weeks.  It started on my inside of my arms and has preceded to every where!!!!   I finally got to see the skin doctor in Minot and she gave meds and salve and did help a little..  I was to let her know how things were going and when I talked to her nurse she called back later and said Dr. Hunter ( a lovely black lady who is so nice) wanted me to come in on Friday at 8:30 for a biopsy to see just what the places were........well, Keri took off work and we got there at the right time.  She came in a looked at me and said "why we don't need a biopsy....it looks much better".    Perhaps the nurse and I got a little overboard on how it looked!!!  Anyway she didn't charge me for the visit and also froze a wart for me for free too.   She did give me stronger salve and some to put in my hair (that has really bugged me).   And also it has gone to my face a little and I have something for that too.  I think that the constant itching was causing me to become depressed and that is why the anniversary of Moma leaving us just really sent me over the edge.  Keri will tell you I was not my usual sweet, precious, loving self!!!   (Did I go a little to far on that?...oh well, why not)  And all I wanted to do was cry!
But, I am much better now.   I like life and people again.  I saw my arthritis doctor Tuesday and got shots in the right knee and right shoulder and I feel more better!!!   YEAH!!!    I have an appointment with my PA Lisa Peterson on the 28th to see if my blood pressure is still going up......it was a little high at Dr. Diri's on Tuesday.  I want her to look at my feet ......they are swelling up unless I just stay off them and I can't do that!!!   AND ISN'T IT FUN TO GET OLD!!!!!!!!
Our Lily is really growing and maybe one of these days Keri will get some more pics put on here and on  a dvd for Bula.   I don't know if Collie has one or not.   Lily is so precious and if you have seen pictures of Mark and Jordan's little Maren, she is precious too.
I love all of you so much and love hearing for you all.  Take care and God bless!

Reality check

When I logged on today to check the blog and add August birthdays, Blogger took me to a page that showed the activity on our blog.  Only TWO views in the last week.  Hmmm, maybe it's time to chuck this page and admit that most of us keep up on Facebook.
The deal is however, if you agree to quit updating this page, you MUST agree to either physically write a letter to Bula (the kind with stamps) or call her to update her on what's going on with you.
Your comment is your vote.  "Quit the blog" is no comment.  "Keep the blog" is a comment that states you still look at it.

I give you a week.
Love to all,
Candy

This is the day we lost my precious Moma.  I can't handle this too well.  If you have the time, please write a memory, funny if you can. about her for me. Love you all,   Jody
